As I mark my first quarter as Executive Director of 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc., I find myself both humbled and energized by the critical role our organization plays in the global food safety landscape. These initial months have been a period of learning, new connections, and growing appreciation for the foundational work 3-A SSI conducts in promoting hygienic equipment design across the food and dairy industries.

Food producers and sanitarians stand at the frontlines of food safety, yet their voices are often underrepresented in the very standards that govern their daily operations. As 3-A SSI continues its century-long mission of safeguarding public health through rigorous equipment standards, we face a critical challenge: ensuring those who use and enforce these standards help create them.
