Symbol Holders List
3-A SSI maintains all 3-A Symbol authorizations or licenses on a calendar year basis. The database of 3-A Symbol licensees is updated on a periodic basis throughout the year as new licenses are added. Updates are made more frequently early in the year as late renewals are completed.
Probationary List
A 3-A Symbol Authorization may be placed in this category if the licensee is determined to be responsible for a finding of non-conformance. The 3-A Symbol will remain in this status until a plan for corrective action is completed.

Discontinued Symbol Holders
The list of Discontinued Symbol Holders shows the name of the company,
the standard number and the 3-A Symbol Authorization number that has been
discontinued. The discontinuation may be due various reasons, including
the equipment no longer being in production, the consolidation of equipment
in another 3-A Symbol authorization resulting from a change in company
ownership, or failure of the holder to maintain the authorization in accordance
with the terms and conditions for use of the 3-A Symbol. 3-A SSI expresses
no opinion, and makes no judgment, regarding any Symbol holder on the
list, or any equipment, beyond the fact of discontinued status.
The list also shows a code, assigned by 3-A SSI, which indicates the reason for the discontinuation. The codes and the definitions are as follows:
- V = Voluntary Withdrawal—The authorization has been withdrawn at the request of the holder. Reasons
for a voluntary withdrawal may include consolidation of products with
another authorization, the discontinuation of a product, or the intention
to no longer hold a 3-A Symbol authorization for the equipment.
- S = Suspension—The authorization
was suspended by 3-A SSI due to the failure of the holder to meet provisions
of the 3-A SSI License Agreement for Use of the 3-A Symbol. Typically,
the holder has failed to submit on a timely basis one or more of the
following: Application and License Agreement, payment of licensing fee,
or a Third Party Verification inspection report completed by a Certified
Conformance Evaluator (CCE) with a finding of conformance.This category
also includes any authorization for which 3-A SSI receives a Third Party
Verification inspection report completed by a CCE with a finding of
nonconformance, regardless of whether the holder requests a voluntary
withdrawal of the authorization. The finding of nonconformance obligates
the holder to remedy the failure(s) that resulted in the suspension
within a fixed period of time.
- E = Enforced Withdrawal—The authorization was withdrawn by 3-A SSI based on a final determination of nonconformance or other failure of the holder to remedy nonconformance or suspension issue(s) within the allotted period of time.
