McLEAN, Virginia—3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. (3-A SSI) announces the opportunity for public comments on a recirculation ballot for revisions to P3-A® End Suction Centrifugal Pumps for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, P3-A 003. A series of substantive and clarifying changes are proposed for P3-A 003, which was introduced in 2008.
3-A SSI announced proposed revisions to the standard earlier this year. Based on a review of all comments received on this ballot, 3-A SSI accepted a series of technical revisions and substantive changes. This recirculation ballot addresses only the specific changes to the revisions that were proposed earlier this year.
Interested parties may obtain a complete copy of the proposed revisions at no charge upon written request to Timothy Rugh at 3-A SSI. A copy of the complete current standard is available for purchase via the 3-A SSI web site at www.3-a.org, see ‘Purchase 3-A Standards & Accepted Practices’. The closing date for comments is September 8, 2010.
The Pharmaceutical Equipment Standards (P3-A) Steering Committee of 3-A SSI oversees the maintenance of current standards and the development of new P3-A equipment standards. The P3-A standards are intended for equipment used in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
