“The new TRC centralizes valuable information on the criteria that distinguish 3-A SSI documents from other types of standards and approvals,” says Tim Rugh, executive director of 3-A SSI. “This resource promotes better understanding of our standards and practices among all stakeholders and it fulfills a major mission objective of 3-A SSI to provide education for all types of audiences on sanitary design principles, application of 3-A Sanitary Standards, 3-A Accepted Practices, and use of the 3-A Symbol.”
The TRC consists of four primary sections:
3-A Resource Papers features authoritative papers on key subjects including the 3-A Symbol program and hygienic design as it relates to the 3-A Sanitary Standards and 3-A Accepted Practices. Papers currently available include:
- Cleanability of Equipment and the Role of 3-A Sanitary Standards
- A Primer for 3-A Sanitary Standards and 3-A Accepted Practices
- Format and Style Manual for 3-A Sanitary Standards and 3-A Accepted Practices
- Plastic Construction Materials for 3-A Equipment
- 3-A Requirements for Rubber Materials
- Use and Display of the 3-A Symbol
Resource Links is a ready reference of links to other useful technical resources on sanitary design and copies of presentation materials from past 3-A SSI education programs.
A Question and Answer Forum posts inquiries about the general aspects of 3-A SSI documents or design criteria with a response from 3-A SSI.
A Sponsored Links section helps visitors locate the specialized products/services they need. The sponsored links are available to materials testing services, equipment design engineers, facility and systems design specialists, cleaning and sanitizing systems specialists, suppliers of equipment/materials built to 3-A Sanitary Standards and systems designed to meet 3-A Accepted Practices, and others.
3-A SSI welcomes suggestions for new resource papers and other improvements for the new TRC. The TRC is open for public access at the 3-A SSI website at www.3-a.org, or follow the link to www.3-a.org/technical/index.html.
